Recipients must demonstrate a strong commitment to equity through their practices, civic engagement, and achievements. Those nominated in each category demonstrate meaningful work in servicing communities that are sometimes underserved, such as economically challenged women, people of color, indigenous populations, people with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community, the rural poor, and others.
