Level Up will be in Oroville today at Nelson Middle School from 2pm - 3pm and at Gridley's Manuel Vierra Park from 4pm - 5pm giving out N95 face masks, regular face masks, and water for those affected by the Oroville fire. Supplies are limited and distribution is until supplies are gone. Stay safe everyone....
Level Up will be holding a free training workshop on accessing services and self-advocacy on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in Oroville, CA from 4pm - 5pm. Attendees will be trained on how to access regional center services, mental health services and how to be their own self-advocates as they learn about programs and services that are available to them. Level Up will be offering a free workshop on Cultural Competency open to individuals working for a city or county agency or organization in either Shasta or Tehama Counties on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 2pm - 3:30pm in Redding, CA. The workshop will focus on developing your understanding of what it means to be culturally competent and improving your ability to work with diverse populations in the northstate. This workshop is intended for anyone who is just starting on the road to becoming more culturally competent, and those who want a refresher or want to learn more about working with diverse communities in these counties. Join us in celebrating this month-long recognition of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Month! The month of May commemorates and pays tribute to the contributions and accomplishments of Asians, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in the U.S. Initially signed into law in 1979 as a week-long recognition, the observance was extended into a month long celebration in 1990.
